A lot of people do not realize that fall crappie fishing is the best time of the year to catch them. They are being sucked into the deep basins.

This is a bite that you do not want to miss out on if you have been for years. You will need some electronics to search the basin to find them the first time before you start fishing for them. Once you find them with your electronics I guarantee you will get bit big time. Remember the key to success at this time of year is your electronics wherever you are.

In a small lake, they bunch up in the deep basins. It is as simple as that. In a large lake they concentrate in bays off the main lake basins in twenty five to forty foot depths of water. You must use electronics in this deep water to find where the crappies are at. Without the use of your electronics you are fishing blindly and you will only run into them by chance and that could take all day. Where with a depth finder you can locate them quickly and you start catching crappies very quickly.

I like hair and tube jigs for this time of year and berkley nymphs and wigglers can work wonders when the other baits cool off. To fish for them once you have found them you have to sit directly above them with your trolling motor keeping you in place. These fish are suspended so all you need to do is raise your rod tip to the crappies level. Fall crappie fishing is by far one of the best times of the year to catch a load of crappies.

You have always loved to enjoy the speedy gliding through water. To be the ruler of the water is what you have long nourished as an ambition. The ripples of water gushing out from all sides of the boat and breaking apart, the roars of the blowing wind, the flock of various colored fish coming up the surface have always mesmerized your sense. So it is no wonder that you would love to buy a boat one day.
Up to this point the story has been rolling on fine. But the problem arises when you find the engine of the new boat is not working properly and it must be replaced. Please, do not turn up your nose at my proposal of spending on a Brugt bdmotor. When the newly bought item does not rise up to its much advertised promise, do not set your heart on buying a new boat engine.
Your imagination takes flight at the sights of the fascinating boats. You bask in jovial mood and do not ask any experienced hand which factors should be looked into before buying a boat. The result is a sour one. This time when you will go to the market of Brugt bdmotor, request an expertise to guide you.
An engine is the heart and soul of a boat. Proper functioning of an engine ensures double safety measuressafety for the boat itself and that for the rider. So while buying a Brugt bdmotor, you need to take care if it is capable of delivering satisfactory performance over a long period of time.
While buying a pre-owned item, being familiar with some facts will do you some favor. The Brugt bdmotor does not come with warranty period that is very common in case of the new buy. In case any fault is detected, then you will have no other way but to pay huge bill for repairing service.
Reliability is the core factor in choosing a dealer while spending money for Brugt bdmotor. If it is on offer in any auction, then also you should dig deep into the record of the concerned person not to get deceived into a faux promise.
When you are not buying a Brugt badmotor free of cost, then you should gather some important information for the safest buy. Check the engines for any outside wear and tear. Ask the owner how many times it was put to repair and if possible take notice of the repair bills also. Delving into the history will save your money from draining out to buy a faulty Brugt badmotor.
To peeper up the chilling quotient of driving the boats, you can register into a Brugt Force badmotor course on offer by many an institute. A course on Brugt Force badmotor will instill a sound amount of knowledge to convert your passion into a cautious fascination.

Lake Erie's central basin has proven has proven to be a gold mine for catching trophy steelhead trout. If you plan to visit in search of Lake Erie steelhead, many fishermen suggest fishing from May through the end of October.

A local fishing guide from Wall Hanger Charters explained steelhead trolling techniques, saying, " We can run planer boards out the side of the boat and run ten lines off these boards. The jet drives can go down 10 to 50 plus feet depending on the length of the line. In the spring, we are typically running 10 jets back 30 to 40 foot leads in 20 foot of water with worm harnesses and flutter type spoons, the baits of choice. We also run crank baits at this time of year, typically back 100 feet."

He went on to explain mid-season fishing, explaining, "As the water warms, and summer is upon us, we move to deeper waters running 40 and 50 jets with leads of 60 to 125 feet back. This is also the time we start to use dipsy divers back the same amount of lengths. When using dipsy divers we run a 6 foot lead behind them with Michigan stinger spoons in various colors."

Some of the hot colors are perch, watermelon and chartreuse. During Spring fishing, trolling speeds are typically 1.0 to 1.5 miles per hour. As waters warm, speeds increase to 1.5 to 2.2 miles per hour. As the water warms even more in the summer, fishermen troll deeper waters with downriggers and dipsy divers fished down deep. During this time of year, speeds are increased to 3 miles per hour, catching trout and walleye.

Trolling an S pattern really also helps to trigger these fish during the spring. The bait fish in the deeper waters are larger alewives, smelt, and emeralds. This is the time to use larger spoons in the 4-6 inch range. Up to 16 rods at one time are used in deeper waters. 8 rods are run on planer boats, 6 dipsy divers and 2 down riggers. The dipsy divers are set on different settings of 1, 2, and 3. The downriggers use 10 pound balls with leads of 25 feet.

In addtion to fishing for trophy steelhead and walleye, the region is known for excellent catches of yellow perch.

Water Condition is normally stained.
Known for it's great bass fishing, anglers love to fish on Falcon Lake. In addition to great Bass fishing, there is an abundance of Catfish, which makes it the perfect fishing trip for the whole family.

Best Species To Fish: Largemouth Bass are excellent, Catfish are excellent, Crappie fishing is poor due to low water, as well as white bass.
Best Fishing Guides: Champion Guide Service, Haralson Guide Service.

Fish are more active during the fall, winter and spring months due to the cooler weather. Fish are active much longer during daylight hours and are normally found in shallow water early morning and late afternoon For active fish, spinner baits and crank baits are most fisherman's choice. A variety of watermelon green plastic worms Texas and Carolina rigged. Early morning is an anglers dream on this lake...top water baits are just about anything that floats. Normally Poppers, Prop Baits, Flukes, or just about any Stick Bait. Fishing can be difficult during the hotter summer months so try a buzzbait in the early morning and late afternoon for topwater.

Falcon Lake is a mainstream reservoir on the Rio Grand River between Texas and Mexico The water is shallow with gradual sloping banks When the lake is low, timber and rock piles are the only cover to fish. At pool level vegetation along the shore provides the best cover. Hydrilla is sparse at this time.

After reading this article you will be able to learn the basics of what to look for in a top notch bass fishing rod so stay tuned. However, choosing a quality rod for bass fishing can be a tricky thing to do but it can also be quite enjoyable. The first step you will have to accomplish is to think of the reel you will use as well as the lures you prefer utilizing.

After deciding on these two components, you now need to focus upon price, strength and sensitivity. We strongly recommend that you take the reel when you are out looking for a new rod because only this way you can decide if the combination rod/reel is properly balanced and you feel if it is comfortable or not. Logically, you will need to make up your mind regarding the spinning rod or the bait casting. After that, take into account the lures you use (crank baits, plastics, jigs spinner baits) or if you prefer mixing them up. A multi-purpose rod is available and in most cases is a decent solution with the current choices available but you have to keep in mind that it will never excel when you will be using a specific technique.

For first time bass fishing amateurs, we strongly recommend this type of rod as it offers the most balanced compromise but if you are not a beginner, choose something that will suit your needs. In most cases, a rod can be used with hard baits like crank baits for example which will require a softer rod tip and significantly less sensitivity. The reason for all of this is that there will be considerably less pressure on the rod in achieving the hook set. If you prefer using lures such as worms, jigs or plastics such as senkos, you will need to use a rod with stiffer tip and improved sensitivity because the hook set is abrupt and you will need to be aware when the fish is "taking the bait".

You also need to consider to the power as well as the action of the rod. A medium to heavy power rod with fast action might be exactly what you need for your fishing style. The rod's power rating will give you the needed information as to the exact stiffness of the rod along with info about where the action of the rod describes the curvature. The faster the action is on the rod, the more it will bend closer to the tip. On the opposite side, the slower the action is, the bend will be closer to the middle of the rod.

As a matter of fact, you will actually use more of the rod in casting with a slower action rating, but you must balance this with the lures you prefer using for catching bass. As far as the prices are concerned, do not go with one of the extreme, with other words do not buy the expensive rod you find and also do not get the cheapest one, something in between will do just fine.

For many passionate bass fishers, the dream is to someday have the opportunity to compete against the very best by entering into pro bass fishing. This dream of going pro can be realized if one takes the necessary steps, and in order to do so it is important to get started on the right track.

First, in order to have any hope of making it in pro bass fishing, you must be high educated about all the nuances of the sport. Also, you will have to acquire the necessary equipment. You will be competing against the best, and chances are they will have the best of the best as far as equipment is concerned. So, to start become a student of the sport and learn as much as you possibly can. Next, begin acquiring the best equipment that you can get your hands on.

Back To Basics

You might want or think that you have to own all the pro bass fishing equipment that there is on the market, but of course this isn't feasible. A good way to go about it is to buy equipment steadily over time as you gain more experience. However, to begin there is equipment that is essential to have.

One such item is a pro bass fishing rod. These rods come at a very steep price, and can cost thousands of dollars. But if you expect to compete at the highest level, then is the type of equipment you will need.

Choosing the proper lures is a critical component in order to succeed at pro bass fishing. Understanding the various lures is necessary because on the market you will find thousands of different baits available. The plastic worms are the least difficult to master and are arguably the most consistent. You will have your choice of a wide selection of these as well.

If you are looking for versatility, the spinnerbait will be of interest to you. Looking through a quality bass fishing guide will assist you considerably in this area as well.

Remember, in order to achieve greatness at pro bass fishing as with anything else in life, you must have the prerequisite knowledge to do so. The more you know, the greater chance you have at succeeding. As you get more experience, over time you will increase your knowledge of the sport. Also, the evolution of equipment will continue to grow so don't be in a hurry right away to buy the best pro bass fishing equipment.

Maximum depth is 217 feet
* Lake Amistad was impounded in 1969
* Conservation Pool Elevation is 1117 feet
* Lake Fluctuation: Depends on area rainfall and downstream irrigation needs. Annual fluctuations can be as much as 5-10 feet. However, historical fluctuations have dropped as much as 50 feet below conservation pool. Normal Clarity is slightly stained to clear.

Known for it's great bass fishing. Fisherman come from far and wide to fish Lake Amistad. In addition to great Bass fishing, there is an abundance of Catfish, White and Striped Bass. Smallmouth Bass are also stocked, which makes it the perfect fishing trip for the whole family.

Predominant Fish Species: Largemouth bass, Catfish, White & hybrid striped bass.

Largemouth Bass are more active during the fall, winter and spring months due to the cooler weather. Fish are active much longer during daylight hours and are normally found in shallow water early morning and late afternoon For active fish, spinner baits and crank baits are most fisherman's choice. A variety of watermelon green plastic worms seems to work well during the hotter months fished in grass. Early morning top water baits are just about anything that floats. Normally Poppers, Prop Baits or Flukes.

How many kayak fishermen have struggled with their ability to hold their fishing pole and paddle their kayak at the same time?

Think about it. Can you hold your fishing rod and paddle your kayak at the same time?

"This is going to be hilarious" The line was ripping off and the big red was hell bent for the mangrove roots. Sitting in a saltwater lagoon ten yards away, I mused at what was unfolding. "The look on Andy's face as he tried to grab his kayak paddle, hold his fishing rod, fight the fish, and figure out how to do it all with two hands was priceless!"

To Andy's credit, he did finally manage to land a nice thirty inch redfish. Despite the fact that during that melee, he dropped his kayak paddle, had to get out of his boat, lost one shoe and waded at least 25 yards! Fish on Andy!

It takes two hands to wrangle a seven foot kayak paddle, no matter how you hold it. Throw in a fishing pole, and you soon realize you need three hands! Paddling your kayak and fishing at the same time became a comedy on the water.

Kayak Fishing Hand Paddles are the answer to the kayak angler's dilemma. The introduction of these revolutionary designed paddles has brought simplicity, mobility and stealth into the kayak fishing arena.

This paddle or fish dilemma has finally been addressed. Kayak fishing hand paddle designs evolved from experienced kayak anglers and sportsmen working closely with the paddle sports manufacturing community.

Valiant efforts in backyard paddle design have resulted in ping pong paddles, Kadema paddles, and other modified racquet devices temporarily fulfilling the kayak paddling quandary. These pioneering anglers could hold onto their fishing rod and with the other hand paddle their boat stealthily.

The kayak fishing hand paddle is a compact and lightweight paddle, specifically designed to use with one hand, while keeping the fishing pole in the other. This simple concept to a complex problem is revolutionizing the sport of kayak fishing.

Once you rig up and wet your line, stow away that seven foot, cumbersome kayak paddle. Place your compact kayak fishing hand paddle close by. When it is time to maneuver your kayak, a few silent strokes of your kayak fishing hand paddle places you back on target. You were stealthy, kept fishing and never spooked your prey. Halleluiah!

Using kayak fishing hand paddles in open waters, where drift control is essential, hand paddles provide simple, one handed tracking. Stick the hand paddle in the water and the blade acts like a basic rudder. No fumbling or cross body flailing a seven foot kayak paddle.

The beauty of the kayak fishing hand paddle solution is the cost! These hand paddles provide more benefit for the cost than any other kayak fishing accessory sold for under $20.00!

For less than a handful of lures, one simple paddle will change your whole kayak fishing game plan. Paddle one handed, chase stealthily and keep fishing.

Yes, you can fish and paddle at the same time, inexpensively!

The Rig! -Part 1 As the water temperature reaches into the low 60's, prepare to fish for Trout in deep holes on the bottom. A shrimp tipped jig, live finger mullet or shrimp will work miracles to fill the cooler with decent size Trout. I have taken notes on this method of fishing for over seven years, and I will share some bits and pieces with you in this article. Anyone who reads my articles will already know this rig by heart, but we'll cover it again. It's as simple as they come. Slide on a 3/8 oz. Lead. Then, slip on a small bead and tie on the smallest swivel you can find. Below your swivel, tie a 3 ft. length of Fluoro Carbon monofilament as your leader. A #2 Kahle hook will work fine for your bait holder and hook setter. When you finally are rigged and ready to fish, cast a rig out and let it hit the bottom. When it does hit bottom, let out another few feet of line so the shrimp can swim out from the weight and do his job. Slack in your line will not matter. This is the KEY to this type of fishing. Don't reel your line tight. The whole idea is to let the shrimp swim free of the weight and into the current naturally. Once again, this is KEY. You will know when the fish bites. They normally start out with just a few small pecks at your bait and then eventually swim off with it and your rod will bend over slow and steady, and that's when you set the hook. I suggest an Ugly Stik Inshore rod with a very light tip so you won't pull the hook out of old "softies" mouth when you lay into him. If you need some rod and reel suggestions, please feel free to contact me. I hope this will be valuable for all inshore anglers. I welcome your feedback, and please let me know how this works for you. Email me with any questions. (charterfish@mindspring.com) Tight Lines, and take a kid fishing!
